Are dogwood branches OK to use

I'm setting up my new cage from DIY and would like to use dogwood branches since they are plentiful around me. I have seen a couple of posts that dogwood branches may be harmful or cause rashes to the chameleon, but most posts indicate that they are fine. They will be soaked in a 10% chlorine solution, and if they fit in the oven, I will bake them for 10 minutes at 350 degrees. They also will be all newly cut. Any last minute opinions before I expose my "Grumpy" to the branches. Thanks
