I will go look as well, and see if I can get an answer for you
The lights run off a completely different starter to T8 bulbs as they have stopped flickering etc. Im replacing all my bulbs with 12% T5 bulbs. I have seen them woking and they look amazing. Ive also seen newborn veileds with them under T5 bulbs and they look amazing!
Hi Japarker82,
Yea... SonTigerPantherCham is right, they are different.
They do require a HO T5 Fixture.
They run off a different (more powerful) ballast.
Also, the end pins are closer together. So they only fit in a t5 end socket.
The Arcadia regular T-8's are nice too... and they will fit the standard fixture.
AND they have a nice spectrum of light with 6% UV B and 30 % UV A. (UV A helps with their vision.)
Hunting for T-5 fixtures? here's money saving hints...
Addendum:
Yes, they do sell HO T-5 lights at most of the larger indoor gardening shops.
You know... the indoor "herb" gardening shops.
Around 40.00 -50.00 ea. for a single bulb HO Fixture, I am guessing.
But, FYI, most of what they have is just strips with no housing and have to be mounted or suspended, otherwise they are pretty awkward to work with.
But still worth a check.
Your best bet is still a T-5 HO ( REMEMBER: MUST BE *HO* ) aquarium strip light.
Buyer Beware--If it seems Really Inexpensive-- you better check well, it probably is just an NO fixture (nominal output t5) and will NOT work.
HINT HINT: Find somebody that has salt water fish / reef tanks and has used equipment to sell. Check Craigs list. All the reef tank folks all want to switch over to LED now... and may have some used HO t-5 fixtures they want to sell at a good price.
Hope this helps.
Cheers,

Excellent, if it is an HO fixture you should be fine,
Just measure between to 2 sockets.
It should be about 34.5 inches. The whole fixture itself should measure 36" long.
