Thank you very much ... We really try to focus on the husbandry of our animals ...We try our best to treat them like family ... Sometimes you can hear one of our kids complaining that they wish they had the life of our dragon ..lol... A big place all to herself , Dad feeds her and cleans up her poop, give her a bath and cuts her nails ..all while she just relaxes

Well, I finally took the tank (215 gallons) off its stand so that I could put the giant driftwood in, would't fit between the tank top and room ceiling... I also Picked up some Under-Gravel Heat Cable to insure my plants dont get cold roots in the winter. I should have some photos tonight after I get the gravel in.

In other news, my Breeding Amano shrimp are doing fantastic. I have 3 pregnant females right now, and probably about a thousand babies right now.

Fantastic news! My lobsters have bred!!!

So the male shed a couple days ago... turned blue, slowly turning red again I think.
And the female has been extremely shy for the last while, so I went to pickup her skull and low and behold, shes carrying tons of beautiful black pearly eggs.

Probably a large school of Cardinal Tetras, some otocinclus Catfish, and Red Cherry Shrimp and Amano Shrimp.

I forgot to mention that this is a planted tank. Think of a all the activity of a live reef tank from thereef rather thant he fish, but instead with luscious green swaying leaves, creeping moss, grass on the bottom. Here is the artist I am trying to follow: Takashi Amano

Wow, those are some amazing looking tanks. I wish I had the time/money for something that looked like that.

I had a really basic fresh water tank for only about 2 years. It was 55 gallons and I think I had around 15 fish. It was fun while it lasted.

EDIT: But it just didn't last because I could never get motivated to clean the tank!

Inhabitants: 7 discus, 14 Cardinal Tetras, 2 Bolivian Rams, Cories, Multipunctatus cats, Albino bristlenose plecos

These tanks have changed around, but here's what the entire setup looks like with hood and cabinet...I'll work on some closer pics with new inhabitants!
(I made these cabinets myself from scrap wood in a cabinet makers bin)

In a VERY thick plastic bag!!

A very thick bag didn't stop my 5" L. maculata from puncturing the double bag. You can imagine that it was a pretty rushed drive back home from the LFS.

Here are some pics of some of the aquatic stuff I've been dealing with over the last few years:

This is my 40G Breeder, Mid-range brackish-water, Paludarium which houses four Archerfish (Toxotes jaculatrix), and one Hogchoker Sole (Trinectes maculatus). This is actually a photo from when the tank was first established, but it looks very much the same now. Salinity is about 1.014SG but fluxuates constantly. They have a 200G glass aquarium stocked with 23 Red Mangrove (Rizaphora mangle) saplings waiting for them as soon as I find some time to set it all up.

This tank is a 37G Tall, High-range brackish-water, tank housing one Green Spotted Puffer (Tetradon nigroviridis). It's themed of one it's it's natural habitats, "the rubble zone". The salinity is about 1.015-1.020SG as I fluxuate it frequently.

The GSP used to share her tank with a Green Wolf Eel (Congrogadus subducens). It did very well in brackish-water as low as 1.015SG, but stress from the puffer eventual forced it into starvation. Further proof that puffers should be kept alone.

Before anyone starts fussing about C. subducens being a marine species and it not being suitable for brackish-water... DO SOME RESEARCH!

The 37T Puffer Tank is being torn down and she's being downsized into a 30G Cube. She's awfully small still, maybe only 2.5" at best, and doesn't need all the space to be happy. The new 30G Cube has a 70w mH Sunpod, better filtration, and is being setup as a Marine Planted tank with seagrass/macro algae, and Live Rock.

Lastly is my Zebra Mantis (Lysosquillina maculata) who was approximately 5" in length. L. maculata is a spearing stomatopod which reaches and adult size of 16" placing it as the largest stomatopod in the world. He was a rescue from a LFS where it spent 3 months in submereged critter carrier. His new tank was going to be a large rubbermaid containter filled with a 12" mud bed and red mangroves. Unfortunetly he didn't live more than 1 week after a failed molt.

i am a little familiar with archer fish from things such as the discovery channel. just curious what and how do you feed them?

When I used to work at the fish store we would keep them in a moon pool type of tank and then hang sticks and such above the tank... Get some crix and let them walk on the sticks... They are a really cool fish IMO!
