I can't tell you how many times I have had to pull over and save a softshell or a red eared slider off the road... It was especially bad a few years back when it was a real bad drought.

Actually they do make good soup. My grandmother makes a mean turtle soup.
I swear some people act like they've never seen a turtle, at least 4 people stopped to take pictures of it, and one lady sat there the whole time, even before I had pulled over to remove it, and just watched it.
It's a Florida thing. I think I have risked my life far too many times pulling turtles off of the road. And then the ungrateful little guys pee on your for saving their lives! I so HATE seeing them run over though.
When I lived in Indiana, the snapping turtles would get in the road, but if you put a stick in front of their face they would bite it and you could just drag them.

Yea it is, luckily this guy didn't pee on me, not to say It hasn't happened before
Whenever theres a turtle in the road people call me to come and get it before it gets run over. With this one my sister was on her way to work and she made a detour, picked me up, and had me relocate it lol.
