Anyone up?

Got stuck with mandatory overtime tonight, considering a new job in a few years once I’m vested. This now interferes a bit with getting up early enough to feed my guy at a consistent time. Hope everyone and their babies are having a great night, can’t wait to see the outcomes of the photo contest! May the best chameleon win

I try to feed mine in the early morning but that isn't always possible. Sometimes they don't get fed until late afternoon. It's not optimal but I haven't seen any problems from it. If I know I will be leaving early and be away most of the day I simply put the bugs in their feeders knowing they will eat them at first light.

I usually feed later in the day. When I have roaches, hornworms-I put them in the cup before I leave.
My chameleon has ignored the roaches in the past. But recently he’s back into the menu for them, that that is great for me. I don’t have to go to the pet store every week for crickets. 🥲

I don’t really have the option to feed the in the afternoon on a normal day due to working 2pm-10pm, I need to get serious with my guy and dubia roaches. He’s addicted to the bsfl and likes crickets but I’m gonna have to only give him the option of dubias for like a week and I think he’ll start eating them.

I work only night shift and only weekends and have for too many years to count. Every once in a while I’ll get stuck staying late (usually Monday mornings) and by the time I get home, I’m drained. I have to take a nap to recharge enough to feed and care for my animals, so it can be noon or later by the time I get them cared for. They still have plenty of time to bask and digest their food and I’m more alert to make sure they’re ok and to enjoy them more.

I get it too. I work in a line of work where I don't get to plan my days and frequently have to deal with crisis situations. I also commute an hour each way for work. On days like today, when I pull in the driveway 15 hours after I left my house, I'm super grateful my husband is here for our boy. I leave before his mister goes off in the morning and days like today, I don’t even get to see our sweet cham with his eyes open. 😔 So I peek in on him while he's sleeping, like a creep.

I’m glad I’m not alone😕, completely feel you on getting back home 16 hours after I left and feel like I have time for nothing except to go to sleep and wake up and go again lol. I get to see him for a bit though after I wake up and get ready and stuff. Makes me happy when I see him tho so it’s all worth it.
