Anyone know anything about physiotherapy?

I have managed to do something to my hip, causing shooting pains down my leg and my knee went weak. Knee is now swollen and having trouble sitting, walking etc. Constant pain. Any tip? Homeopathic remedies?

You may have popped it out of joint. Mine does that sometimes. The only thing I can do it try to rotate it till it goes back in. Sorry. I know how you feel. Hope you get some relief soon.

Hmmm, I popped my hip out slightly and only for a moment about 6 months ago when on the pole, but that was an extreme pain I have never felt before. I find that when this happens i can still walk and although it's painful, it's not extreme. Is there any way to slightly pull the joint, so its not popped out but a little stretched? Maybe its that?

Might be time to give pole dancing a miss? :)
Accupuncture if your brave, works incredible well I found personally after a neck injury.
Why bother with homeopathic stuff that might work, when you can see your doctor or chemist for something that will, even if its not plucked from tibetan mountain herbs, pre digested by a pregnant yak, and ground in a bowl by an inscrutable cave dwelling hermit monk.
Why live with pain?

Nah, love it too much to give it up - carried on dancing after the hip popping out! Great fun and i lost two dress sizes doing it.

The reason I ask about the homeopathic stuff is because when i put my neck out (trying to do a backwards roll!) they gave me a load of strong painkillers which worked brilliantly, but left me tired and woozy, and I can't just keep taking painkillers! I need to figure out if there is anything more I can do to stop my joints popping in the first place, and wanted to see if anyone had any experience with loose ligaments and popping joints?

EEk, acupuncture where thousands of little needles are inserted into your skin. No thanks. Homeopathic medicine does take longer to work, but it is less damaging on the human body, and it is also less likely to cause side affects. Regular medicine will work faster, but the side affects SUCK! You might wanna talk to a realy physiotherapist, but see more then one. I got a herniated disk in november and the first diagnosis left me being treated for the wrong thing and damaging my back further. I'm still recovering, but its better. Dont rush anything, thats the worst thing you can do.

Thanks everyone. I think i will see if i can get an appointment with a physiotherapist through the work insurance, and see what they say. :)

Maybe a visit to your freindly chiropracter might be a good idea? Fine out what shape your bones are in, maybe you need a slight adjustment, a nice massage and you'll be right. Your doctor can test for signs of osteoporosis, Its quite common. Best to catch anything early, rather than suddenly realise you cant move one day, mid performance LOL
:)

Hoping that as I have only just turned 30 that this is not an issue! :) I have been told I have hyper mobility syndrome (loose ligaments!) so it could well be to do with that.

More like 10 needles. If your acupuncturist isn't BS and really knows what he is doing, being tapped by a finger hurts more than acupuncture. It's all in the needles used and the person using them.

Can't attest to its healing though, it didn't work for my symptoms, but I knew it was a stretch of a try anyways.

Good luck to the OP.
