Any idea what can cause Eye problems that can be transmitted???

Here is the back story, About 3 weeks ago I got a female ambilobe from LLL Reptile. When I got her home I noticed she had trouble aiming her toungue. Took about 3-4 tries to get her cricket. Later in the day I noticed she would close her right eye and keep it shut for a while. She would open it if she saw me looking at her. Also you can tell her eye is smaller than the other, And it would be open if she was walking around. Other than that she seems very healthy, strong and good appatite and good drinker. I started cup feeding her which helps her alot, she has to get right up on the feeders to get them. I searched here and found info on vitamin a deficiencies and other treatments. So for the past few weeks I have tried these things

1. Vitamin A drop on feeder for a couple days.
2. Repashy Calcium each feeding.
3. Outdoor sunlight.
4. Shower mistings.

So far no improvement, but also no decline either.
So now for the kicker,

My one and half year old male ambilobe now keeps his right eye shut for periods of time during the day. :(
And his eye is noticably smaller than the other.

They share the same outdoor basking cage but at different times. Otherwise nothing comes in contact between them.

My next step is going to be get a fecal done and an appt with Dr Greek here in California.

So does anyone have any idea what might be happening?

Here is my general care

They dont need the extra D3 2x a month either, Just repashy. That could actually be the cause right there. Idk how i missed that the first time i looked at this thread

No not the cause, I just started repashy supps. I got them when I picked up the girl from LLL. And I havent given D3 since then either.

But curious, why no D3 with Repashy?

Well im guessing parasites then, especially since they share an outdoor cage. No D3 is required when using repashy because the repashy calcium plus contains all the required D3 that is needed.

Another possibility:

Never just focus on things like nutrition, infections, or parasites. How about something in the environment?

Is the right eye facing something the left eye doesn't? Sunlight coming in through a window? A fan that might blow dust in it? Sit down, think, and look at all the parameters to troubleshoot this. Having the same eye have the same problem in two animals is something to think on.

Nothing out of the ordinary, because the male has never closed one eye and both of his eyes are usually bulging out, now his right eye is significantly smaller. His cage has been the same for a year, now it started right after I got the female.

Get some blood work done, it will at least tell you if you have an infection of some type. Other than that I'm a bit stumped. I've seen a number of things over the years but nothing like you are describing.
