Any here use Reptibreeze cages?

Hi, Im currently on the look out for an upgrade for my chams, my spec i realy wanted is two solid sides mesh roof and door,Im in the UK, so would be perfect for my needs.

I have found these for sale however they dont make the size i need, slightly to small.

Now after looking about i have found place stocking Reptibreeze,

They make a 24" x 24" x 48 whcih would be good for a male Veiled?

Are these any good? Any Bad points?

The only thing of my concern all mesh.

Also surely if you have a mister does the water come out of the sides?

Other than custom, i can find wooden sided vivs which i could mod to have mesh roof and fit some vents etc, which is something maybe i may do.

Any help would be great thanks.

I use a repti-breeze for my K.uthmoelleri (Hanang hornless) and being that I run a/c all day It doesnt stay humid for long, so what I did was go to my local hardware store and purchase plexiglass to fit three sides of the cage, so If you wanted two sides covered you could use that option. It also helps keep the mist in when watering. a 24 by 24 by 48 is the perfect choice for an adult male veild.

Hey thanks for your reply now thats a good idea, which i could do, Do you put it on the inside or outside? and how are you fixing it to the sides?

Also do you find them a good quality cage? any problems etc? any pics? sorry for the questions, i really not sure what to settle for, plus as i might be getting another cham i will want all three cage to be the same.so i want to make the right choice, thanks again,

I put it on the inside of the enclosure, but either way would be fine. I secured them with velcro so that if for some reason i wanted to remove them I would do so easily, while still maintaining a sturdy grip. You could also use hot glue for something more permanent. I have not had any problems with it and I find it a good quality cage. I also keep one outside with mantids, so I consider them a sturdy cage.

The older ReptiBreeze models did rust, but they have supposedly "fixed" the problem... however, I have not heard of anyone using the newer ones.

Like Sabrina said... they have made an upgraded version that is now made of all aluminum. I have not used them and prolly never will...... Mostly because I prefer the cages made in the USA who are sold buy ChamEO, LLL Reptile, Tiki Tiki Reptile and a few others.

If the Zoo Med is all you have locally and the price isn't too bad... go for it. Just make sure you buy the new version that is made of aluminum.

As for the sides... I would either hang plastic, like a shower curtain (these are cheap and can be cup up easily) Or you can use something like Coroplast (if it's sold in the UK...) or something similar. Coroplast is very similar to cardboard except it is made of plastic, not paper. It cuts easily and is easy to clean.

I have 6 (1XL, 1L, 3M, 1 oddly shaped that works nicely 28x12x30), not a spot of rust here.

I recently purchased 15 from LLL Reptile at the NARC show and love them. The rep told me that LLL and ZooMed cages are made by the same vendor. You shouldn't have a problem with either. ReptiBreeze cages are made very well. I highly recommend them.

Rust

My reptibreeze has rust, but only where I cut a hole in the top for a dripper. So, I'm guessing whatever they're coated in IS rust-proof, but if you expose the metal inside, it can still rust.

Thanks for the replys, i think im going to order a two of these as i like the idea of using plexiglass or something to block off the sides and back,

I have a few other questions, how do people set up drainage for these? as im tempted to buy a mist system too, as i leave early in the morning and am back evening so misting is done to early to be honest,

Also what sizes would be best for a male veiled, a female veiled,and i am getting a panther male so would get one for him too, so i have it, thanks

i live in the uk also and got my cage this morning its great easy to assemble etc i dont need to cover sides etc because its in a corner of my room and i will mist it myself so cant comment on that but i would say if you have the room just get 3 of the biggest the more room the better the problem i am also having is deciding on substrate/drainage etc

Hi mate thanks for the reply, just out of interest where did you order it from?
Yes trying to work out what to do for drainage, as currently i mist 2-3 times a day let it dry between mistings, but would like an auto mister setup on a timer rigged to my cages, as i mist very early before they are even awake which is not ideal, i dont think,

If you are using plexiglass on the sides aren't you defeating the purpose of having a screened cage? The screened cage is for air circulation and you really cut down on air circulation with the plexi.????

Hi yes it does but im live in the uk, it less humid here, and the room they are in is quite cool, so realy i wanted a cage with mesh door and roof with solid sides and back,

which i have found a custom builder who does these desinged for the uk market but he only does certain sizes at the moment i think they may be to small.

So im thinking buy a screened cage and then mod it a bit, i might even find out they are fine in all screen at home,

I have two of the cages .. but instead I use screenglass... it is a very thin plastic sheet that looks like screen but it is plastic and extremely easy to install.
