Ants!

Just got my little veiled male today! :)

After an hour of putting him in, I realized he was already eating. Apparently one of the vines from outside housed a colony of ants! The little guy sat right in front of the hole in the vine where the ants were coming out, and popped them one by one as they came pouring out. I even placed a blob of honey water on the vine, and after a few minutes of watching the ants drink, he went back and feasted on honey-filled ants, YUM! I tried to film it but he's still pretty darn shy, especially with the camera.

Luckily it's a safe species. ;) (Camponotus impressus)

You may want to stil remove the ants from your cage.
to do this, remove all the plants, live and fake, wash the fake ones, and any live ones you need to repot.

do this by removing the plant from the pot, wash off ALL dirt from the roots, and wash off the leaves, then place the roots in fresh dirt, and repot.

glad he enjoyed his little snack though!

It's a species of ant that only nests in hollow vines, so they're not much of a problem.

I did remove the portion of vine which housed the ants; there's too many for him to eat in one sitting.

He is still cleaning up the stragglers though, lol.
