Ants living in flourescent fixture...

I noticed some ants in the enclosure, and it seemed like it was coming from my living wall. So I took the whole enclosure outside and hosed it out. That took care of all of the ants in the enclosure, so I put it all back together. An hour later, I see ants marching on the top of the cage. They are coming from the UVB fixture and I can shake eggs out of it, which means they must be nesting inside of it.

I shook it, I blew it out, I left it sit outside overnight. They keep coming back as soon as it gets turned on. I’m afraid to use poison as its near the enclosure.

I may put it in the freezer overnight. Anyone deal with this before?

This is a new one. I had to create a chalk line of diatomaceous earth around my insect containers. It is non toxic. I don't know how it would do in a light. Don't burn down the house.

Use terra liquid traps. Put one where they're hanging out and just let them keep going to it until they're gone

Just ordered on amazon. Hopefully they prefer it to the light.

I had them all through my enclosures at one point and 2 traps took them all out. Hope it works for you

I put two traps on the enclosure. One by each vent on the light. The ants seem 99% gone. Yay and thanks!
