Ever since he was very young he had extremely large eyes? I share your concerns it is very odd. He has the largest eyes among all of the chameleons i keep. However he seems to be in great health according to Dr. Greek. All of my animals receive check ups every year and Greek noticed nothing unusual. No deposits.. Nothing, as you can see there is no Iris flaws or scrapes.
If his eyes were irritated i would know it. He doesnt do any rubbing on vines or anything.. He just has large eyes i suppose.
For reassurance here is my lighting.
NOTE: This was just after a misting, which accounts for the small water droplets. He may have been popping his eyes out like he frequently does after a long mist.

He also has a florescent linear suspended above him for nice lighting but this is the same with all my animals.
