the breeder i bought him from said he was a red bar ambilobe but he looks a little more like an ambanja to me. he has a little bit of a yellow fade under the green on his body which is hard to see in the pic which gives me the inkling he might be an ambilobe. he is 5 months and ive had him since he was 2 weeks old. either way im happy the way he is looking. what do you guys think?

i think he is a very handsome fella!!! as for which he is, i havent an idea but i did have to say how beautiful he is :) :D

lol thanks!!! hes my first chameleon and im glad hes turning out handsome. ive been giving him dinofuel raptor edition which is making him brighter and bringing out the yellow I talked about which is why im confused.

All you can do is go off the breeders word. Although it is not present in every banja. I dont see any red fleckering behind the arm pits nor on the belly. Id say you have a ambilobe but truly anyone word here is just assuming. Again, in this case you have to trust who you bought him from.

Here is some fleckering im talking about.

Scroll down to the ambanjas and compare the fleckering.

yea u cant see the red speckling that well in this picture but he does have plenty of red spots under his belly and near his armpit area. iv'e seen his red stripes brighter but its usually a blend of a dark blue with red kind of like star spangled cham u showed. lol im kinda hoping he turns out to be an ambanja but yeah i could tell the breeder was experienced and knew what he was talking about but u never know, heck it could probably be a cross breed of both
