I woke up today and I see this on Golem's head what is it? I am really nervous!

He was having trouble with the area right about the spot of that bubble for the last week I don't know if that could help...

So when I woke up today it looked like the bumb was leaking. Still have no clue what to do but I am trying to see the vet tomorrow night.

Does anyone have any idea of what it could be?

That's a common place for a burn. Any chance he got too close to his light?

You can put some neosporin on it to help prevent an infection. Keep a really close eye on his behavior while it heals. If he gets lethargic or sleeps during the day or if the spot gets worse, that's a sign he needs to see a vet asap.

I have caught him up there from time to time, I am going to look for something to lift the light a bit cuz the light is right ever the encosure.

Should I be running to the vet now or should I just keep an eye on him over the next few days?

Is it a burn? That's what I thought it was at first...

I would do Neosporin first, it will regularly stop it getting infected. Burns don't heal and disappear in a couple of months, so don't expect it to heal quickly with a vet visit or Neosporin.

You might want to see the vet for your own comfort level, be the vet will probably give a topical antibiotic like Neosporin.

Do't beat yourself up, you can put two pieces of wood about 2 inches thick to rest the dome on, that will give you the height you need.

Check your basking bulb wattage, most of us run 60 watts, you might want to go down if you are at 75 or 100.

I use 160 only cuz my room is freezing I have very bad heat in my apt. but I am going to drop it down to a 100 tomorrow I just dont know if that will be warm enough... I was thinking maybe using 2 bulbs not just one see if that can lower the intensity but still have the ambient heat.

So long as he has one spot that is in the mid80s, that is fine. The rest of the cage can be room temperature. When he's cold, he will move into the basking spot. Chameleons can take room temperature just fine. Its in the low 70s in my living room during the winter, and my Jackson's is okay with it.

Two basking spots of different temperatures are a good idea if your room is really cold. If you don't already have one, get yourself a digital (not the one with the dials) temperature gauge. Mine was like 15 bucks, and its very useful for know the temperature of an exact spot in the cage.

My room runs in the 50s-60s

Yeah two basking spots would be a good idea. I would set one at about 75degrees and the other at about 85. That gives your cham a choice of temperatures and the two lights should help with his ambient temps, too.

Thats what I am going to try first thing tonight when I get home. I was thinking a direct 100 watt. and a noramal 100 watt.

I just ran to the store and grabbed some Neosporin I am going to put it on as soon as I get home! Thank you I hope this helps him =(

Basking temps can be pretty hot as long as there is a gradient for him to choose from. Use several different branches at varying distances from the light and he will not let himself burn. They will only burn themselves if they are forced to use one or two spots that are inadequate (too hot.) The branches should be a few degrees difference.
