Thank you Dave. I have done that, and indeed the basking spot is only slightly warm feeling.
I am happy to announce that we just returned from the vet. (well not so happy about the bill) The little guy is in very good health other than his eye. We are starting a round of drops (ocuflox) 3x day for 10 days.
he kept his eye so tightly shut even after the freezing that we were unable to determine if it was damage or debris causing the issue.
keep your fingers crossed - we should see improvement within 3 days. and hopefully by then he'll be hunting again.
