Is he flattening his body when he does it? If so this is normal and they are creating more surface area to warm up. They will also puff out time to time as well.

yeah right now he’s basking and he’s tilting his body and he’s doing the beer gut move. I thought maybe he was a bit hot because it’s a warm day so I cut a fan on to circulate air and now he’s full on basking so that must be it
