hi
my veiled chameleon has some superficial grazing to his veil and back from when he got behind the curtain rail on a climb. (i usually keep him off there but he snuck up the curtain) its taking a while to heal but isnt infected do dont feel he needs a vet. i was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on any creams or ointments that would be ok to ideand help it heal?
thanks

Welcome, sorry you first visit has to be with an issue, but is will be for fun soon.

The cream you want is by prescription only. But for now get an antibiotic cream at the drug store. Could you post a picture of your Cham. That will help us determine if his problem is such that he needs a vet.

thanks:)

hard to photograph cuz hes shedding but heres the bump on his hood 20140209_143238.jpg

turns out he was starting to get an infection hense the blister. glad i got it looked at when i did! now hes got some cream on it and after a day, is brightly coloured again and currently walking about on the sofa after eating a big hearty meal :) thank frick for that!!

Even though you figured out your current problem- be over dramatic in the future about scrapes. My veiled had a very tiny scrape on his chin and I thought I had treated it well enough... It turned into an abscess that had to be lanced. Since reptiles do not create puss to flush out their wounds- it turns into a solid mass. Believe me! Treating his lanced area and always worrying about another infection was much more stressful. At the time I had no idea they could even get an abscess so easily. I thought it was from more serious injuries that weren't treated at all.
