You should also try using aperture priority if able....get the blurry background look...gives another calisthenics to choose

Lighting is your big challenge in these photos. Two dark in 1 and 3 but too uneven in 2. Can you get better diffuse lighting in the room and take new photos? The composition of 3 is nice - you haven't cut off the feet or tail. Always pay attention to what is in the background, too. Nothing ruins a good Cham picture like a messy room behind him. The vegetation in 3 is a great color contrast to your Cham, too. Better lighting will make that pop.

Those are my very nontechnical recommendations.

3 would be the best picture, if there was more lighting, and as @gotwqqd said using an aperture priority setting.

Personally I like taking pictures outside, having the aperture setting and also a fairly fast shutter speed.

If you kept the lighting as in picture 3, you could slow the shutter speed to let in more light and it would look brighter.

Also use a tripod or a stool or something you could place your camera and then you could slow down the shutter speed it's not like the Chamaeleon blazing fast

Avoid florescent lighting. Try to have multiple light sources, one being natural daylight. Use a food treat to direct the chams attention. And what they said. --^

better light makes better pictures
I cleaned up some of the noise caused by high iso (low light)
but your photos would be sharper also

you also want to try and avoid cutting off the tail/nose/feet
