Acting strange

I have had my male veiled for a couple month and he has been happy and friendly, greeting my every day when i get home from school. But recently he has been acting strange. He stopped greeting me and he only ever sits in the corner. He usually comes down and scratches the glass, to signal my that he want to go out of his terrarium, but he stopped. And when i try to take him out, he starts to his and claw his way back to the corner. This morning i heard noise coming from the terrarium. He had fallen down from his corner and was freaking out, desspredly trying to crawl up the wall. Concerned i tried helping him but he rolled over on his side, hissing at me. I dont know what is happening to him. Is he sick, unhappy or is it something im doing wrong?

Its a male and he's been in my Care for 2 Months. The pet shop owners says he's 2 years, but he just seems tiny.

I take him out about 2-3 times a day, often because he's trying to get out. But recently he doesnt want to go out.

I feed him 4-5 crickets every day, depends on how hungry he is, with his weight at 60 grams I just give him what he can eat.

I dust the crickets in nutri-cal ca:d3 once a week

I water him 2-3 times a day by misting him for about 3 minutes. I see him drink about once a day, but he doesn't s me to drink much.

There has been dark brown and white bits laying around in the cage. He hasn't been tested for parasites.

he has allways been clumsy but he never fell down. he has brown spots on his body but i was told by the pet shop owner i shouldnt worry.

His terrarium is 36" x 18" x 36"/90 x 45 x 90 cm and of glass, from exo-terra

He has uvb light from zoo med and a heat lamp from exo- terra, both on for 14 hours a day.

The temperature is 22 at the bottom and 30 at the top. The temperature at night doesn't go under 18 and I use the white termo/hydro messure thing hanging in the middel(dont remember the brand).

The humidity is about 70 and I try to keep it just under.

I use living plants, like living room birch(couldn't figure out how to translate it best). It's often scratched up.

The cage is place in a corner across from my bed, it's the only wall that isn't an outer wall. There is a computer fan placed on the cage to get some air circulation, but it isn't very effective. There is about 60 centimeters to the floor.

I live in Denmark.

My chameleon is acting weird and im worried about him.

He has moved over under the heat lamp and is calming down.

He seems to be calming down now. He is still back to normal but he's getting there.

It's recommended that you dust at almost every feeding with a phosphorous-free calcium powder to help make up for the poor ratio of calcium to phosphorous found in most feeder insects. It's recommended that you dust twice a month with a phosphorous-free calcium/D3 powder and twice a month with a vitamin powder. It's important to feed/gutload the insects well too. I use a wide assortment of greens (dandelion greens, endive, escarole, make, collards, etc) and veggies (carrots, squash, zucchini, sweet potato, sweet red pepper, etc) and a small amount of fruit (berries, melon, .apples, pears, etc.)

I don't see any apparent signs of MBD but maybe this is the beginning of it?

Could be the famous veiled chameleon personality swing. It is odd that he fell, Him hissing could've been because he scared himself with the fall.

Id say he is definitely not 2 years old. Mine is 7 months and larger than that. Other members might be better informed but I would suggest getting a screen enclosure also for airflow. I was always told those glass terrariums are no good, also he is going to need more space pretty soon

I like your cage setup though looks nice. Just curious I see your dripper hose running into the enclosure....what dripper are you using. Could you post a pic? I just set a big dripper on top of the cage but I'd like to do something more like what you have

I would remove the substrate. Chameleons have been known to ingest pebbles and it will lead to an impaction and death.

I like your cage setup though looks nice. Just curious I see your dripper hose running into the enclosure....what dripper are you using. Could you post a pic? I just set a big dripper on top of the cage but I'd like to do something more like what you have

I ran a hose from the top of my closet to his favorite branch. The wasn't really a hole for the hose to enter the terrarium, so I drilled one.
