well i was reading up all night about parasites and all, went and took my cage out along with my chameleon out side today to clean and bathe him, and on the bottom of the cage i lay that foam type mat down for lining were the worms are. u buy it at walmart or whatever. has holes in it. i think u use them for cabinets. anyways when i was cleaning i kept finding these tiny lil clear worms almost could not see them. i think they may be coming out of the plant when i run my drip. maybe coming from the bottom when water runs through. also i found a few pieces of poo at the bottom of cage. didnt think he was pooing. could the worms be coming from the poo. i was reading up on all of this last night. and someone posted something on here about pulling a tiny worm out of a sow bug that was 4 inches long. kind of looked like that. could this be what it is. i have no pics.

They could be maggots from some insect in the cage. Its still possible that they could have come from the chameleon....but its not that often you would see the worms away from the poop.

Can you post photos?

well they are long really tiny like a hair, a lil bigger.. i threw them out before i thought about it. at least 2 inches and almost clear see through. i also set the dripping plant on a plate and seen more worm things in the excess water that drained onto the plate..

At leasttt two inches?? and only as thin as a hair. If you find more please try and post a picture. completely clear? If you find another piece of feces pick it apart just to see if (but i don't think there will be) any inside.

Why did you think he wasn't defecating?

Nematodes maybe. What type of plant, how much soil, and how warm does the soil get?

not likely.

Yeah, spose not since they generally are not bigger than 3/8". Still, if theyre subsisting in the soil or around a plant that is odd.

im sure the soil is about 70 or so and its just a umbrella plant. i think i have seen these lil wiggley worms when it rains really bad and u see them in the puddles, clear to almost orange. really tiny
