Abnormal female behavior?

I have a 10 mo old female veiled, and I am assuming she is reaching maturity and looking for a male. I just want to confirm this because her behavior as of late is quite annoying and I would like to know how long it lasts! She has, for 2 weeks now, been clawing at and climbing around the screen of her cage, mostly at the top. She will also fling herself into the plant below and then crawl back up and do it again. I have her in a medium cage and am awaiting a new large cage from mr herp, should be here this week. It seems as though she is really stressed and the noise is a whole other matter, I'm thinking of moving her to a different room. How long can this behavior go on before it impacts her health? And, is there anything I can do to calm her?

Do you have a laying bin in her enclosure? At 10 months she is old enough to have a clutch of infertile eggs in there. Ive never had a female act that way before and something is def going on with her exhibiting that behavior. I'd get her a lying bin and see if she will use it. You can check her to see if shes holding eggs. Just carefully palpate her lower abdomen near her vent. You should feel several small stone like objects. If you can feel any then shes def gravid and needs a place to lay asap. Make sure the dirt/sand is moist but not soaking wet. Only needs to be wet enough to hold a tunnel.

i agree that if you dont have a laying bin in with her 24/7, get one in there! at her age she needs one in there all the time in case you miss the signs of her being gravid. here is a link to how to set up a laying bin. https://www.chameleonforums.com/blogs/jannb/345-egg-laying-laying-bin.html
if that isnt what it is, it sounds like she is ready for a larger enclosure. once you see if you can feel any eggs and have the laying bin in let us know! if she isnt carrying eggs, of course the only way to be 100 percent positive to go get an xray, i would say she wants more space which you are already getting ready to do for her! so keep us update

I would definitely get a laying bin in there if you dont have one yet, just in case.

It is possible that she is also looking for a male to mate with because she is receptive. Is she sowing some bright blue spots in addition to her normal greens and yellow spots? She could also just want a larger cage, or it could be a combination of things. The new, larger cage might stop it, or she might just continue on like this until she is no longer receptive or has laid eggs.

Yes, she has been showing the receptive colors, and I have been checking every other days for lumps in her belly, nothing there yet. She also isn't spending any time at the bottom of the cage, so maybe she is just needing a larger one. I ordered a 3 ft high by 18" cage so she should like it I also have the laying bin all ready to go, but I need the new cage first. Thanks everyone, I'll keep you posted.
