Abcess???

Marysville is near Yuba right? There are a lot in Sacramento and the surrounding areas.

Yup! That's where I'm looking. Just wondering about any recommendations from locals around there...

Thanks so much for any suggestions?

Check out Davis, they have a lot of vets/students because of the school. Sometimes the students will do it for free or at a greatly reduced price (never tried it myself, but it was recommended by some one on here at one point or another.) There is also a vet in Elk Grove who sees chameleons (he's at Bradshaw Vet Clinic.) He's not super experienced, but he really likes them and will do what he can. He has a fair amount of experience though and has helped me a couple times with my chameleons and my tortoise. He gives good deals too. I don't know of anywhere else any closer, sorry.

I already found one for 60 dollars plus however much the meds are.

Awesome. So there is someone in Yuba City that knows Chameleons?

If they are just a normal vet that has agreed to see him then I would make sure ask some opinions here about what to expect and what questions to ask that way if they try to give you bunk meds or don't correctly irrigate or something you can make reconciliations.

Good luck and keep us posted!

Crayola, that's great! I suggest you bring the phone number of Holy Toledo's vet with you in case your vet thinks a consultation with someone more experienced would be helpful.

I agree with Dan that you might want to solicit thoughts from posters with mouth rot experience.

I was trying to wait it out cause im going to my dads and jackies on the 17th and we had descussed her taking him to her vet but unfortunately I cant take my lil guy on the airplane so i'm doing my best.

The first thing i asked them when i called was do you see reptiles like Chameleons and they said yes we do, matter of fact we saw one today. They told me 60 dollars to be examined and then 40 dollars at the minimum if he needed meds. She said it shouldnt cost me more then 100 dollars. So next week when my mom gets paid ill take him in thats the soonest i could get him in.

Excellent! It sounds like you are getting things on track.

We are all really here to help you. If we sometimes come off as gruff please attribute it to the fact that we're either old (I'm 53) or jaded because we've been through this so many times...

Please cut us some "old people" slack...we are really trying to be helpful.

ha haa Well I'm 36 but I just got called Sir by two girls in their 20s so that should hopefully qualify me for old people slack?

Eliza is right, people here just care and aren't always good at articulating that in a manner that is sensitive and that is mostly because sensitivity is completely overblown which you realize the more years you get under your belt ha haa..

Took cray to the vet they said he is fine alittle on the small side but was told to continue what im doing. He does not have mouth rot he has a sore .she.said his mouth looks excellent also.

Whew, good! Bet that is a relief since now you have all other problems ruled out. Now you can relax and not have to worry as much! Hope Crayola heals quickly.
