You could try different colours when you offer solid foods. My Rankins loves yellow, and eats well when I put finely chopped greens in a dish with yellow pepper, mango and squash, all chopped tiny, then put worms in it to make it wriggle. Couple of waxworms attracts his attention, then a few mealworms, phoenix worms etc. He really loves hornworms and gets very excited about moths, so I usually let a few waxworms pupate.
I want to try peas on my guy too, skinned ones, I've also read that they like grapes.
They do get lethargic once the weather cools down, so try not to worry too much. I'd avoid baby foods apart from ones that are just fruits/veggies with no additives, you just don't know how his body will react. But if you are syringe feeding then I see how baby foods would help.
Pooping is a really good sign!
