From a US veterinary standpoint, reptiles are like birds.There is as little as one mandatory class and in some schools, none. Virtually the only good vets are the ones who themselves keep and care about reptiles. And unfortunately due to some bad characters and breeders just in reptiles to make money, reptile keepers are considered by vets to be cheap when it comes to medical care.
