A little worried

Jevin

hi just a little worried about what these recent black marks are in Daisy it doesn't look to be a burn because the skin/ scales are fine even after 3 days of having them. Just want to know your thoughts.

Thanks,

Jevin

what do you mean by "pop off" and if it is a burn I probably know how she got it because she had been basking in a different spot than normal because she had outgrown her usual basking spot but that is fixed now. I've also got another question which is if I will need a bigger cage for her because she is currently a foot in length and is in a 60 gallon flexarium with two pothos plants and one ficus bush.

Thanks,
Jevin

the areas on the spine and casque will eventually begin to seperate from the damaged areas, at this point it will take a few sheds to heal, watch out for infections.

burn neosporin can be applied to help heal the burn but sylvidine is best for burns.

these burn's don't look to serious and should heal in a few sheds.

an adult should have at least 2'x2'x4' of space.

and by pop off do mean that part of her will fall off or just the skin will come off.

sections of the spikes/ casque, the burnt damaged parts will literally pop off, and then heal into a scar under neath,

/search burns on the forums for pictures.

but the marks showed up three days ago and haven't change in the way they look or feel in fact the areas that are possibly burned feel like they always do.

another question is if it is a burn then will it return to the way it was before?

it took a while (weeks to months) for the tissue to fall off.

just a quick update it's been over a week and the marks on her back have disappeared and the mark on her casque is shrinking and returning to it's original colours.
