are reptiles keepers doomed to have no friends??? o_O i mean seriously! my life evolves around my reptiles, work, and school. i like it that way. i understand i dont have many friends to begin with, but seriously! i have NO reasonably aged reptile friends in my city. none! i have a few, but they're all older, and im sure none of them want to play with my reptiles with me or help me sort bugs, or clean tubs...they have their own reptile chores to do...i do all these things alone. and with alot of reptiles, thats alot of alone time! i dont even have a friend that is interested in reptiles and wants to learn about them!! where do you meet people like this?? even derek (we are on good terms for the time being) doesnt "like" my reptiles. he more of just tolerates them. he doesnt ask questions, when he's over while im doing reptile chores, he just lays on my futon and plays computer games..never wants to take them out...nada.

does anyone else have these problems?? :( i like my reptiles alot..but i honestly dont want to be known as the crazy anti-social lady that thinks she's a reptile.

I'm the same way! But I on;y have 2 reptiles and 2 birds and a bf (does that count??:p haha)

But yeah, everything revolves around Kuzco and Bella. They are literally my babies. Actually, a couple managers thought I had babies because of how I talk about them. My friends don't really care about them the same way that I do, but they said I have to bring Kuzco over when he gets "big and skittle colored"

I got lucky on the boyfriend end though, He has the birds and Bella, and he's really interested in learning more about them, so he comes to me and I research and worry and take care of them for the most part. He's the financial support :p

I might be joining you on turning into a reptile aha;)

When you get to be an oldie like me you have grandchildren who love anything buggy. They probably think their grandma is a nutter.lol

Mine age 3 and 6 love to feed my collection. When the oldest was two she tried to eat a locust.LOL . My daughter was not happy.:(:( My friends know I'm weird but I love my hobby and my husband, family and friends just let me get on with it. The kids are waiting patiently for silkworm moths to emerge from cocoons.:)

My husband calls me the Crazy Lizard Lady! I take better care better them than I do my family he says! Lol but honestly my friends think I'm crazy but still think Ringo and Freckles are very interesting.

My girls are raised with the option of being princesses but both love reptiles and bugs!

I must confess that I rarely mention my pets in conversation, not unless asked, I live in a REALLY straight-laced area and I don't want to be THAT person. Saying that, my girls tell anyone who will listen and our house is always playdate-central.

That's funny :)

not to toot my own horn, but I am a princess :p Just one who loves dirt, mud, lizards, guns and fishing :p So, basically I'm rapunzel :D

I'm currently sat at a training centre waiting for my 7 and 8 year old princesses to finish their Muay Thai class...

That why we're all here, we don't have chameleon lovers in our lives so we end up here instead...We need a chameleon lovers singles forum to help out the crazy freaks that we are....

Well, pet reptiles are somewhat accepted these days. I had more trouble with my rehab bat! I found him on my front door mat on a very cold AK winter day barely moving. Warmed him up, rehydrated and fed him, and kept him all winter. He ended up losing his wing membranes to frostbite damage so he wasn't releasable. He was the neatest little guy, friendly and super smart, but I REALLY had no one interested in getting to know him!
