A few quick questions

These are in regard to a panther chameleon I'll hopefully be getting - as long as Paypal starts cooperating soon!


1) Is tap water suitable? I do have ReptiSafe water treatment that I use for my geckos right now - I'm assuming this would be fine for him, too?

2) Can his enclosure be too crowded with foliage and plants?

3) Is there a best time for feeding?

4) Would music/TV stress him out?

1.Tap water is fine, I fill up my containers and let them sit for 24 hrs.
2.I had alot of plants in my panther's cage and he seemed frustrated with trying to get around them. So now only the top part of his cage is mostly clear of foilage, but the bottom half is covered in foilage for the humidity.
3. Best time for feeding is in the morning so they have all day to digest their food which the basking light helps them do.
4. Chameleons don't have ears, but they feel vibrations. If you're going to have a lot of bass, they yes music/tv would stress him out.

This is great advice

The only other thing I would add is that if you are watching tv at night and he is in the same room then cover his cage with an old towel or something to stop any light shining in if its past his bed time so it doesn't disturb him.

I totally agree. I always cover both of my cham cages with a dark couch throw at night. Just in case you have to turn on a light, plus with winter, it keeps the central heat out and they stay cooler.
