A few pics of Caesar

WOW! thank you for sharing! I wish I had space for a cage that wide, I just can't squeeze anything else in my living room!! :( LOL

Photo Updates

Since he's been growing, I've had to adjust his vines lower in the enclosure to keep his casque from hitting the roof while basking. In addition to adding some larger diameter vines for some better footholds and resting spots, I've added a new basking light. The 60 watt bulb I had before just didn't produce enough heat. The new light, 125 watt, is an actual basking bulb on a dimmer. I have it dialed in for 94 at the hottest spot. It provides a larger warmer basking area that he seems to enjoy. I still provide his old light just in case he prefers a cooler "warm" spot. :) It can be see in pic 2 of this series.

Loungin' around whilst shedding. I love the dangling rear leg.

After some free-range wrangling. As with most chams, we have our good days and bad days when it comes to handling. :(

Back in his territory, relaxin'. ;)

Free ranging is alot like watching a toddler. :p Half the time you can tell he's looking for trouble to get in. You'd think with a new tree he'd like to hang out there, no...it's always off to the window.;)

Handling going so so. :)

New Tree

Chams....Sheesh.

So I spent countless hours researching, building, and worrying about my cham. (As any good cham owner should). While out visiting a client I see a tree that I think would be perfect for my boy, so I offer to buy it on the spot. I get the new tree home and add it to what I think is the perfect cham room. Huge enclosure, trees to free range on everywhere, sunny window.:)

Shows you just how much I know.

His inviting room.

Apparently, here is more interesting.:D

Or reading over your shoulder while you're on the cham forums.

Perhaps climbing on things that don't look natural is just his way of staying in shape.

Always freeze when spotted.

And of course my favorite, where's the most difficult spot in the room to be…he's there.

Quick updates

Wow, it's been nearly a month since I posted in thread. I've started a second album titled Free Ranging, see profile. This album contains various shots of Caesar, "out and about". But for those who like a little more instant gratification:

A little "Camping Out". :D

Both of us can't wait for spring. A little sunshine and fresh air will do us both some good. Cheers! :D

That is hilarious. I jsut read through all the updates youve done.
His free range looks amazing.
ANd my male veiled Kink is the exact same way.
No matter how many plants, vines, highways and biways he has. he always has to end up in strange places.
Such as... basking under his 'brothers' lights ( a male hoe) the blinds, and his favorite spot... the top of my ferrets cage. or my office chair.. but mainly the ferret cage.

It's funny...I used to come in the room and look in the places with the most cover...Now I go in, look in all the worst places for him to be, and shorten my search dramatically.

Do you have a picture thread? I don't see any albums on your profile. I'd like to see your chams.

Good work. He looks a very well looked after Cham.

Wish I had space to expand my Cham environments like that

Thanks! Your boy Bert is looking well also. Your enclosure looks slick. I'll bet it holds humidity well. I tried to make my office still appear functional while allowing both the cham and his enclosure blend into the room. That wall was tough to work any furniture in on, anyway.

Although, I have to say I'm a bit jealous with your access to locusts. Caesar loved them this summer when I could catch a varied size and offer up to 8 a day. I attribute them to his rapid grow and healthy look. They seem to be a very natural prey item for veileds.
