A couple of questions

Hello everyone! I just have a couple of simple questions. First, what rotation of feeders do you give your chams? I have been primarily on crickets, but I think Gron would enjoy some variety. Second, how frequently should he shed? He's about 4 months, and I have only had him about 3 weeks, and he has had little parts of shed, but not one big one. Final question is what do you guys store your feeders in? I am looking for ideas to upgrade my current tiny cricket enclosure

welcome!
I currently feed off:
Orange head roaches
crickets
hornworms
silkworms
and the occasional superworm

roaches, crickets, and silkworms are staple feeders. so feeding daily is fine.
superworms and hornworms are treat foods.

chams normally shed every month, until roughly 6 months, then its normal for them to shed every month, every other month.

They also dont always shed their entire body as they get older. so a foot here head there, etc is normal as well.

Your cham won't be as healthy without a variety of feeders. Based on what you can get in your area give him as much variety as you can. Chams often get tired of one particular food and decide not to eat it for a while. He may not cooperate with your desired rotation anyway.

Chams tend to grow in spurts, more rapidly the younger they are. Kind of hard to predict how often he'll shed as every cham grows at a different rate based on genetics, nutrition, temps, etc.

I keep my feeders in deeper plastic storage boxes with lids modified with screen panels for ventilation. Glass terrariums work too but are heavy to haul around for cleaning. I used to use paper towel or tp rolls for hiding areas but some of the rolls use glues that contain toxins. Now I use paper egg cartons.

hello
Yes, almost certainly he would appreciate and benefit from a varied diet. Aim not to let any one type of prey make up more than 20% of your chameleon's diet. So minimally, 5 types of feeders.

Choices include:
cockroaches
silkworms
terretrial isopods
indian walking sticks
butterworms
hornworms
blue bottles
kingworms/superworms
termites
soldier fly maggots (pheonix worms, calci worms)
etc

Thank you all for the great responses! I think I am just being an over paranoid dad. I did look at those lists and I will be ordering some Blue Bottle flies as well as adding some worms to his diet. Still looking for a few more varieties that are somewhat local/easy to care for.

For the most part, you won't be able to find some of these bugs in local stores.

Most of us order bugs online.
