45 eggs this morning. She started digging yesterday at 9am. She stopped this morning around 11am, she slept in her bin. She was too weak to crawl out. I peeked in and she kept trying and kept giving up, her whole head was covered in dirt. I picked her up, rinsed her off in warm water and put her under her lights and offered food. Holy Moly! 45 eggs??? Amazing! Give her some extra TLC over the next few days for doing such a good job :)

How's your rescue Oustie doing?

Jann she didn't eat, her eyes are bothering her. She had so much sand and dirt in them. I rinsed them good. Should I let her eat on her own? I have Phoenix worms for her. I'm so proud of her.

Wonderful! I sent a reply to your last thread yesterday 'cause I was very curious! But I'm glad she did a great job!

Should I remove the bin now? I put it back in there. She keeps checking on it. And going back to it. Is this normal?

They usually like to finish burying the eggs. She might go back and try to finish. I don't ever bother them until they are completely done.

Well congrats on your first clutch.

She finished burying them. I gave her about two hours to get out on her own before I took her out. She kept sliding down the side of the bin. It was just too sad to watch. Plus she couldn't see. She had a helmet of dirt. The eggs were buried under 12" of dirt at the dead bottom. I mean literally, the bottom. She dug to the plastic. Then buried them all the way and was sitting atop like some sort of dirt ninja. It was the sweetest and most amazing thing I have ever witnessed. My baby is a bad a**.

I misunderstood you. I thought you pulled her out of the hole. You can remove the laying bin. Just feed and water her like everyone is saying. She should look better in a couple days. Good job getting through your first eggs

K, I'll go remove it. I didn't want to cause her anxiety. Lol. It's so much work!!! I didn't want to remove it and freak her out.

Hey everybody. Frita has not ate yet. :( she is drinking though. I'm offering food every day, and giving her lot of space to rest. Any ideas on why she is refusing food still?

I was very worried. She was drinking like crazy. I was misting 2x a hour, sometimes 3. And she drank everytime. Finally yesterday she ate 2 huge super worms. I felt very relieved. She had a stressful time I think, we just couldn't find a suitable laying area for her. Finally I upgraded her cage and moved her to a more secluded location as a last resort and it worked. She started digging that night. Thank god I exhausted all my options because my last one before a vet visit worked.

Thank you so much for all your help. You're a god send for female Veiled's Jann !!

I'm taking her into the vet to be seen. She looks so rough. And I thought I saw a egg bulge near her hips. I'm worried she might not of laid them all. Either way I want her checked out. Just for peace of mind.

I think that's a good idea.ask him to do an x-ray to make sure she has laid all the eggs.
