6 month old female.

My little panther female is about 6 months old as of now. Is it true that they will lay eggs even if they have never bred? If so when should I start to prepare her cage for laying "false" eggs?

Yes its true. they can lay eggs whether or not they have been bred.

I would get her a lay bin now, and let her have 24/7 access to it.

Also, there are ways to reduce or stop egg production.

less food and lower basking temps help.

what do you currently feed her? How much?

what are her basking temps?

I feed her crickets almost daily. She could crunch a dozed large crickets daily no problem. Her basking temps upper 80s lower 90s. Just a small tray with sand will do?

OK.. first thing..

Her temps are too high.

If you lower her temps to around 83, she wont lay a large clutch.

I would cut her feed back to 4-5 large crickets every other day.

and no that wont work for a lay bin.

They need a bucket that is at least 12 inches deep, and wide.

I use a bucket, that is filled with 14inches of top soil, and is 12 inches wide.

Can the substrate in the laying bin be just organic potting soil, or does it need to be sand? will a sand soil mix suffice? Im collecting recipies if anyone is sharing.

you could use a mix as long as it will hold a tunnel and not collapse while she is digging. Alot of people use the washed playsand cause you get it wet and its holds together.
