Ok so everyone knows hurricane irene came through and destroyed the east coast, I've been without power since early Sunday morning and this is day three for my little guy without power, I've done what I can I am feeding him, I have been feeding him his 15ish dusted crickets, and he's in front of my window to help with temp which is low 70s...(idk what I can do about that with no power) is color changes from black to his green/blue. He's a young nosy be panther chameleon about 2-3 months old. Basically I'm just worried and what to say my thoughts, does anyone have an other ideas? Btw our power probably won't be on for another 2-7 days...

Dont worry too much.
70 F is okay for a week or two.
He can go without UVB lighting for that long as well. The window light will likely be a comfort to his natural light rhythme if nothing else.

Begin planning for next time.

A solar panel and/or wind turbine if you've the $ for it, can be used to run lights, heating /cooling equipment.

For short term heat, put chameleon into a shoebox (he'll settle down after he's been in the dark for a while) and use a hot water bottle (your hot water tank will stay warm quite a while, or boil water on a BBQ) or use one of those snap heat pads such as are used for shipping or keeping hands warm in gloves.

Some emergency animal hospitals have generators to keep their buildings warm (or cool), and may allow emergency day care, for a fee.

Consider a little UPS to run a small watt lightbulb - just enough to keep him warm in a smaller cage covered with a blanket.

You can buy small human-powered generators - you pedal a bike to create current to run a heat light bulb or an electric blanket. This isnt as far fetched as you might think: http://www.los-gatos.ca.us/davidbu/p...c_blanket.html

Consider a gas generator if storms arent rare where you live.

Consider living somewhere with an alternate source of heat, such as propane or a wood fireplace .
