3 months of ownership, so far so good!

So I bought my Panther off of a guy locally that was moving and could not take him. The guy had all kinds of books, binders, etc of information and gave it all to me. I had done a lot of research beforehand but these really helped. At first I was a little scared that I would stress him out and not provide the perfect care but I have to say Yadi (after Yadier Molina, GO CARDS!!) seems to be doing very well. He is 11 months old and very colorful! He is absolutely amazing! At first he would not come anywhere near me, but he has finally warmed up to me.

My questions is: Is it possible to get a fake plant of some kind and either put it by a window or even outside when it is warm and let him free range in that for a while?

hello and welcome! lots of people only use free ranges in thier homes but u must have the proper lights and they must be safe from burning. uvb wont pass through a window but feel free to bring him out on nice days just keep an i on him hes quick and predators like hawks are even faster

sure,the plant can be fake or real, but be aware that uvb does not pass through glass so there would be no benefit of that other than a nice view of the outdoors!! lol. you could open the window if it is screened however if you are looking to get some natural sunlight. You did not state your location but I am assuming it is somewhere warm?. You can put a plant outside but just make sure you do not leave your chameleon unattended. They can disappear in an instant, not to mention that birds can eat them!

I live in indiana so no warm weather for a while.. But I have a nice screened in back porch for the summers. for instance i do a lot of homework on the computer. Could I go get a bird perch type thing and just let him chill why I do homework or whatever?

I am sure he would love that!!!! Where do you live in indiana. I live in Florida but my family lives in Indiana. I just came back from there on Monday! The weather was nice while I was there but I heard they got some snow since I left!!!! Not good chameleon weather for sure!!!
