Last year's calendar was a great success and we ended up with a beautiful product. I'm hoping we can build something even better for 2011.

Entry Deadline: August 31

Rules
  1. Only two entries per member.
  2. Anything less than 2300x1800 will not be considered.
  3. Landscape orientation. Maximum resolution. No Humans.
  4. Please try to avoid compression artifacts and pixelation.
  5. Minor post processing is allowed if natural look maintained.
  6. All rules and legal terms from the [thread=102]photo contest[/thread] apply.

Info
The administrator will add text to each calender photo in order to identify the species. Some combination of name, username/company, and time since registration will also be included.

To help build a diverse calendar, we will continue the process used last year and group entries into multiple categories. Some photo contest entries from over the past year are likely to be included as well. This means there will be multiple polls to determine the final calendar content. In addition to these categories there will be specific voting for the calendar cover.

For 2010 we designed a standard sized calendar. Depending on the size and quality of entries, there may be additional options for 2011 (oversized, vertical, etc). The higher the quality and resolution of entries the more options we will have. While a standard calendar will be available, a decision on additional options will not be made until the entry deadline has expired.

Prize
The top three entries from the calendar cover vote will receive a free calendar. All proceeds originating from calendar sales will go towards the cost of maintaining Chameleon Forums.

How to Enter
Please note the size and resolution requirements above. Entries have the potential of being very large files. There are three methods you may use to enter your photo(s). So that you know the status of your entry, I will reply to let you know your photo has been received and if there are any problems. If you do not get this reply within a couple days then your entry was not received and you should contact me.
[email protected]

1.) Email your entry as an attachment to the address above.

2.) Email or pm me a link to your photo.

3.) Upload your photo to the calendar section of our gallery.

Note
We are striving for natural looking high quality photos. Entries should be what one would expect from a store bought photo calendar. Veileds and panthers will probably be in the calendar a couple times due to their captive populations. Keep in mind the calendar will try to show a variety of species. This means the more unique the species you enter, the better chance you have of seeing that entry in the calendar. If needed some previous photo contest entries that meet the requirements will be used. The rules and information listed here may change at any time.

Don't be selfish!
Share your chameleon with the rest of the world. Enter up to two photos to be considered in our 2011 Chameleon Calendar.

Entry Deadline: August 31 :)

A few entries were removed because they did not meet the minimum size of 2300x1800. If you submit your photo(s) by email you will receive a reply when I receive it.

The calendar entry date has been extended by one week. I plan to reply to all email entries by Saturday. If by Sunday you don't receive a message confirming your entry, then you can assume I did not receive it.

Calendar Entry Deadline: 9-7-2010

As a new member and as a long time fan of chameleons and hopefully soon to be an owner I am very excited about the calendar cannot wait to see the results! Karma to all who enter!

It will probably take 7-14 days before voting begins. Members are welcome to submit images during that time, but there is no guarantee I will have time to consider them.

Sorry Jade - you missed the deadline, but Brad said in an earlier post that members can still submit entries up until voting begins. Try emailing your pic to him.

I'm sorry for the delay. Voting for the 2011 calendar should begin Monday October 4.

Are they available to Canadian citizens and how much will they be? I would love one to use as a supplement calendar beside my chams cage.

Not sure what the price will be for 2011 (but it is reasonable) but yes, they can be mailed to us up here in the Great White North. Once the voting is done, there will be an announcement as well as ads on the homepage when they go on sale.

WE WANNA VOTE! WE WANNA VOTE! WE WANNA VOTE! lol just kidding but i cant wait.

Usually the price on the bookstore are very unexpensive and competitive, and that includes shipping to Canada. Personally, anything under 20$ CAD will be perfect!

And the voting should begin soon! Brad has a very busy time these weeks. ;)

The process of determining the calendar cover will begin Saturday Oct 23. The voting period for this will only be a few days.

The entries in all the categories are wonderful! I really enjoyed looking at them all before voting! Good luck to everyone who entered! :D
