Hey, I have a 4-5 month old veiled chameleon and I'm thinking about getting another one. Unlike mine, the one that I will get is female. Is it ok if I put them in the same cage?

Agree with not keeping them together but waiting a year or two before having another ? What's the resoning behind this? I started with 1 then 6 months later had 5 or 6.Absolutely not. It will put a huge amount of stress on them both. 5 months is not very long to have a chameleon. I'd make sure the first makes it to two yrs before getting another.
EDIT: they shouldn't even be able to see each other or any other animals you may have from their cages.

I was new to reptiles, if you do proper research and link yourself with experienced keepers shouldn't be a problem. I have healthy chameleons and been praised on the knowledge I have gained and my husbandry is pretty much spot on but always trying to improve. Have lots and lots to learn. As does a person who has kept for 20 years. 8 have been keeping for under a year.I'm assuming you
I'm assuming you had prior experience with reptiles. This makes the transition to a chameleon, which are considered one of the more complex reptiles to keep, a little easier. The OP asked a question that experienced Cham and reptile keepers would know. Therefore I can only assume this is their first time keeping chameleons. Five months is not long enough to show long term problems with husbandry, so it's best to learn on one animal rather than get more and find out later that something is wrong with your technique. This is all based on the assumption that the OP is relatively new to reptiles so if I'm wrong I apologize.

Tottaly agree with that! You're absolutely right. It is extremely rewarding to know that the reptiles we keep are healthy and happy. But for every one person like you who does their research it seems there are four who just impulse buy at a pet store and don't ask questions here until it's too late. Not saying this is the case or trying to offend just want to make sure that animals get proper care.
