Your Chameleon - veiled, female (i think), 2 months, my care for 2 days

Watering - ive only been misting her lightly 3-4 times daily for a few mins, not spraying her directly. i see her drink the droplets off the leafs
Fecal Description - looks normal, picture of fecal attached to this post
History - a friend of a friend dumped her on me. didnt want the lil bugger

Cage Info:
Cage Type - the zoo med glass cage with vents in the front and a screen top. the ones people use for frogs. i'm getting her a small repti breeze in about 2 weeks.
Lighting - 7am-7pm reptisun 5.0 uvb bulb and a 25 watt house bulb in a dome fixture.
Temperature - i have a temp gun as well as a therm with probe. temps are 79-80 at basking spot and 70-74 in the cool area.
Humidity - 60%-90% hygrometer live plants and misting
Plants - small hibiscus
Placement - she is about 4 1/2 feet off the ground near a closet that no one goes in (aka junk closet) air vent is about 15 feet away across the room/no fans
Location - florida

Current Problem - Yesterday Gracey was a darker green color I assumed from stress from driving to my house and she also had been in the middle of a shed when the girl gave her to me. Her head was not finished. i bumped the humidity up when i got home and woke up this morning her head still had not shed and her body was discolored.
and i am worried about this cage i got. she is only the size of my pinky i would worry about her in a big screen cage. is this glass one ok for temp use?

first picture of her is her head that hasent shed, second is her the first day i got her. the thrid is her today

She is probably just a little freaked out over everything right now. You are probably going to see any array of colors while she gets used to things. Everything you are doing seems good. The terraium is fine for now. In the last pic her eyes look a little sunken in, so just make sure she is drinking. She is a cute little bugger!

Those colors are present when a chameleon is stressed out. She is probably stressed because she is shedding and alot of dead skin is still stuck on her head. Make sure her cage is always very humid. This will help get the excess skin off.

I wanted to mention her urate does look a little runny. Just keep on eye on that also. It should be more solid.

welcome! one other thing...make sure your basking branch is far enough down so when she is under the light that none of her body can touch the hot screen. They can get burned easily. I usually have mine down about 7 inches under the light.

If you have a male it will have a nub sticking out of the rear on the back feet. Females do not have that nub.

thats what i read online. the mles have tarsal spurs and females dont. she doesnt have anything on her back feet so i think female. unless they grow them later in life?

If she was going to have the nub(spur) it would have been there already. I have a female but wish I would have got a boy cause the boys are the ones that turn all those bright colors. Girls are pretty much different shades of green and black... 

Wrong! My Camille is showing teal/turqouise and golds. I like this better than males:) those colors could be stress from the dead skin and handling. Upbher misting to help get it off. Also I keep my female around 80-81 basking body temp. This slows egg production along with not feeding too much which you will need to worry more about around 5-6 months. Have you read everything about egg laying in jannb's blogs? I still refer to these a lot.
good luck:) she is very cute.

Yep I have. I used this site to get all my care info before I got gracey. And I read a bit about female care and egg laying bins. Thank you for the help

Cute little one you have!!.. Girls have alot of beauty as well as you will see for some of the other forum members have. As said probably just a bit stressed with all these new things in her life. Carol has been great with her advice for you. Just keep on reading on the forum and asking questions for anything you need to know.
