Yeh they need a tree or something to be able to hide in if they feel they need to. He was probably just thinking about the huge bird thats gonna scoop him up soon.

And if it's hot and he's out for a bit you might want to mist him a fair bit so he doesn't dehydrate. Doesn't take much when they're out in the sun. Being outdoors is so good for them, as long as your careful!

He has a loooong stride! Yeah get a couple of large potted trees for him to climb around

I dont know about the pepper trees in cali but here in florida there very toxic

We usually use big screen cages outside made from strong materials. (iron/aluminium) We've but some big plants in there so they can hide, but also branches to bask, thsi way they are save to cats and birds and we can leave the house if we want. (our garden can not be accessed by other people)
