1 side dark 1 side light?!?

I've never seen him do this before.

We r having a little trouble with our little one atm. He wants to eat EVERYTHING, and I mean everything, branches, leaves & Soil... We have a Ficus Benjamina and a Hibbacus in his enclosure, we have broken off all little twigs that he could potentially pull off him self, same with the dead leaves, I covered the soil up, but there was a tiny little hole. I just heard a load crunch and hed got some kind of twig from the soil :-( I took him straight out, checked his mouth, gave him some water, he seemed ok, just annoyed that Id tried to stop him eating he twig! He was quiet dark when I got him out but then just as i though the was getting lighter he turned around and the other side of him was still dark...
IS THIS NORMAL to be half light AND half dark? (also, it wasn't the light cuz i checked and moved him around...)
how about IS IT NORMAL for him to want to eat soil, twigs, leaves etc? and should I try to give him some veg?

All mt chams do this ! I also asked this questions, everybody said that on the dark side that they are trying to asord heat/UVB. Nothing to worry about

My cham does the light/ dark thing. He also tried to steal my pudding today too...lol So i think it is normal for them to try to eat everything, but I think it is more of a curiosity thing than anything.

My Veiled doesn't, but he certainly does change his sides independently.
