Taming

Hey guys I wanna try to tame my Panther chameleon he's 7 months old he doesn't like turn black or puff up when I hold him when do it on my screen cage and also he sometimes turns around like he goes under the branch when I look at him is there any any any way that I can tame him other than hand feeding plz help me ps I don't wanna stress him out

Well I'm working on the hand feeding but I just wanna know other ways to

Hand feeding is absolutely the best way to gain your chameleons trust. He will correlate your hand to food and that your hand coming into his space is a good thing. Once he starts shooting off your hand, you can start taking baby steps at handling and touching him. Always take it at your chameleon's pace. Only do as much as he's willing to let you, if he backs away or puffs up...tone it down.

I agree with your suggestions, however I would not say it is gaining the trust of a chameleon. It becomes more of conditioning - associating your presence inside the enclosure with a food response.

It is a chameleon, after all - it behaves on instincts and learned behaviors. Treat every approach with care, and as Wowbango said, go as fast as your chameleon lets you.
