Should I continue to mist my Vailed cham if I have moving water?

I have a smallish waterfall, about 10 inches tall in the cage that is about 42 inches, tall I have been still misting with that in there but is it necessary to do so with a waterfall.

Get rid of the waterfall, plain and simple. Continue misting.

Waterfalls harbor bacteria, unless you want to clean it EVERY time you feel a slimy residue on the waterfall.. just don't use it.

If your getting tired of having to manually mist, then purchase an automatic mister from mistking. I have one and it works great. What are your humidity levels at?

Waterfalls are not a good choice with any chameleon.
They collect bacteria, chameleons love to poop in them, crickets love to commit suicide in them, etc.
Even with daily cleaning the water would not be clean enough.
Chameleons drink raindrops and dew (very clean sources of water compared to what is in your waterfall)
Additionally the enclosure needs to completely dry out between mistings to avoid respiratory infections, coccidia, mold, mildew and an army of other potential problems ... impossible with a water feature installed.

bacteria shouldn't be a problem since ill be cleaning it quite regularly I have no problems misting him i'm just curious to if its necessary but Ill continue to do so

The only beneficiary side of the waterfall is that it looks cool, thats pretty much it . It doesn't serve any importance to chameleons and the costs definitely outweigh the benefits.

You will not be able to keep it clean enough unless you soak it in bleach at least once a day and rinse it multiple times afterward.
If you insist on keeping the waterfall (your choice) you will have problems with the health of your animal at some point in the not too distant future.

lol curious to see how many times a person is going to say GET RID OF THE WATERFALL! until this guy gets it! but yeah definately GET RID OF THE WATERFALL!

ya didn't realize that it was such a bad idea to have the waterfall in there but ya ill remove it and continue to mist it and maybe soon get an automatic

Excellent.
Waterfalls do seem like a good idea and they add a lot to the aesthetics of the environment, but there are just too many problems with them for these animals.

what about a filter like fuel in ur car.... ur car is equiped with a fuel filter same with your fride so can a water filter be added to the waterfall to help remove the bacteria and sucidial cricket debris im not saying that waterfalls are good but just curious if somehting like that could fix it?

its really a shame that people at pet stores are not a more reliable source for things like this, they had advised me I should use Moss and have a waterfall or misting but the suggested waterfall its just a shame

I found this website to be a much more reliable source then a pet store. Sadly, most petstores give out advice that can pretty much kill your chameleon in a few weeks.

Thank you for the link its a very good read.

now under food it says that once the cham hits about a year they will do fine on 3-5 every other day, now once again it seems as if the Pet store gave me incorrect info they recomended 8 per day....what do you all feed your veilds? should i cut back to 3-5 every 2 days?

My females are more likely to eat 7 or 8 crickets every other day.
The males eat 3 to 5 and seem to lose interest.
I have males that have gone over a week ... even two weeks without eating with no ill effects.

You could also consider a dripper, in addition to misting. The vast majority of the water my chameleons drink comes from drippers.
