Thank you for your answer. Yes, we went to a very good vet. She didnt see anything in the chameleons mouth apart from a little thicker saliva. I dont think the mouth was washed because there was nothing to remove, she just gave him a cortisone shot and baytril oraly.
Can you help me? My 2 year-old veiled male was diagnosed very early stage stomatitis and treated with baytril. This didn’t help and we took a sample from his mouth. Lab test result was Pseudomonas aeruginosa, a very tricky one to get rid of. Now his mouth has been washed with gentamicin solution...
Sorry, my bad! I looked again and actually the leg I saw was two legs, one behind another. And both normal. Getting blind or something... *embarrassed*
Veileds are 100% capable of having 2 different colours on 2 different sides at the same time. I see it daily with my male and it's not the lights. :) Usually the other side is bright and the other is dark.
This kind of injury happened to my cham too last friday. Could you please tell me how they healed and/or send some pics of healed casques!?
My veiled accidently scraped the top of his casque on the mesh top of his enclosure a couple of times. The scales must have been injured because they...
We have the same problem here with the winter darkness during daytime (Finland). My chameleon began to react to that months ago (ate less, seemed tired and passive, went to his sleeping spot earlier). We began to keep lights on in his room whole day long and bought an extra daylight tube. Now we...
Thanks for your answer! We'll see what happens with the casque. He actually climbed up to the wire mesh top and scratched his head on that a couple of times before I came to check what the noise was about. Now the branches are lower and that can't happen again.
Eek!
Poor thing but what a stunner!
This is how he woke up on Christmas morning, little Spiderman! He has never done this before.
Cutie, who tried to scratch off loose skin from his casque a little too hard and ended up like this:
Hope the scales will grow back... Do...
Look at this pic (last one on this page):

This lack of responsibility really makes me angry. I sent mail about the pic three...
Same here. I try to give him everything he needs and seems to want, but feel quilty anyway for keeping this lovely creature in captivity in such unnatural habitat.
True, he's barely 10 months old (16-17 centimeters ntv) and we already had to move the basking branch lower because his casque touched the wire mesh top. :D
