i think my male veileds tounge has become shorter or weeker
he still eats fine and drinks but when i watch him eat he has to get a lot closer to his prey then he use to.his tounge seems a lot slower when he shoots it to. i am not cup feeding him.he is also still very active, its just his tounge
hey my cham went to sleep like 20 minutes before the lights went off
i recently added about a foot in hieghth to the cage so i think he might have just been tired i dont know
i read that the basking spot should be like 95 to 105 so ya
but it isnt a big deal for me to decrease the temp i was just telling you what i ve heard
i ve had him for about 4 months now and he hasnt been burnt
my cham is a male veiled about 6 months old
it seems like he stays a darker brown color during the day but still displays little green on his belly
the temps are 84 f
and the basking spot is is about 103 f
you need to mist him more once is not enough
i do two misting sessions of fifteen minutes a day and i think that is what is recommended
also lose the night light it is not needed because chams benefit from a temp dropp at night
also do you have a dripper in your cage. if not you need to get...
my veiled is usually very calm and relaxed but he does have his days like today he just wouldnt get out of his cage i use for sunning and let me put him in his inside one
its most likely about to shed so i dont think there is anything to worry about just give it a day or to and he should begin his shed.thats what my veiled does when he is about to shed
no i always fill his cage that i use for sunning with a thick hibiscus plant where he can choose to bask in the light or hide in the shade i just wanted to know how long people set there chameleons out in the sun
