tounge problems

i think my male veileds tounge has become shorter or weeker
he still eats fine and drinks but when i watch him eat he has to get a lot closer to his prey then he use to.his tounge seems a lot slower when he shoots it to. i am not cup feeding him.he is also still very active, its just his tounge
Maybe hes just lazy. Mine will do that sometimes to the silkworms, He will shoot the first one them walk up to the rest. He will shoot crickets from across the cage.
Do you cup feed or free range? Or both? If you cuup feed you may want to try free ranging for awhile to allow him to exercise his tongue.
