Hi mate, like Oski said there are a number of them around the UK.
From experience I can recommend Ben from South Yorkshire (Chameleonden). I know it's not in your area but it's well worth a trip to his place to see his chams and choose what you want. He has a wealth of experience too.
If you...
I'm from the UK too (Midlands) and have just bought the Chameleons of Madagascar DVD and Panther Chameleon Book from this site's bookstore.
Postage for the book took a while but other than that couldn't fault the service.
I watched the DVD at the weekend and it's much better than I thought it...
Jadeladine, my panther seems to like pooing whenever he comes out on my hand. Always seem to be his stinky-est ones too.
First time it happened he hadn't done one for a few days, he came onto my hand for a silkworm, climbed about a little then left me his little present.
His way of paying me...
Thanks all, I'm so pleased that the replies are coming back as male as I was having doubts (not that I have a clue myself).
Tiff, I got him from Ben (Chameleonden) towards the end of May. I couldn't resist him when I saw the sire.
Thanks again....
I realise that there is no science to this and that it is very difficult to sex a baby panther chameleon, however I am looking for some advise of what I should be able to see at around 5 months of age.
Obviously one of the big give-aways is colour, but would you expect a 5 month old panther to...
I have the same query with a 5 month old Diego Suarez. I was led to believe that it was male but I'm not 100% convinced at the moment.
The only colur so far is a little green in face.
I'd be interested to see some pictures so see some comparisons as they sound about the same age.
He is stunning, what locale is he?
Looks similar colours to the sire Diego Suarez that we just got a baby from.
If yours is a Diego too I can't wait to see how my little boy grows up.
Hi Oski, I got the Ankify just after Christmas so I believe him to be around 5 months now. Prior to this we lost a yemen so I was a little nervous about getting another, especially as a baby. But he seems to be doing OK with eating, drinking etc and has shed once that I have seen since we have...
Hi Oski, I recently had an Ankify from Ben (the breeder who's advert you are looking at). So far he/she (not sure yet) seems to be very healthy and Ben was full of good advise when I collected it from him.
Your obviously a bit further away than I am but if you get the chance to collect from Ben...
I've just had a similar occurence with our male veiled.
First thing each morning I mist the enclosure and try to spray him gently to encourage him to drink a little. He always starts to run at first but then stops in his tracks to drink some of the water running down his head.
Over the past...
Possibly a strange question here?
I very recently got a used mesh enclosure and which came with several fake plants, vines and an umbrella plant, Also included were several nice looking branches which I'm guessing would have cost a fair bit.
The problem I have is that we have now noticed dust...
I'm loving the colours. Is the male a particular morph of veiled as most I have seen are much "greener" than yours? My male ranges from dark green to a bright pea green when relaxed.
Nice! My wife would go mad at the thought of that many cages. Can anybody tell me what the plant is in the 5 larger cages by the window. I'm looking to put some plants in a 4ft cage which we have just got.
We have had our 10 month old Veiled for 4 weeks and he has been shedding over te past few days but mainly on his legs and tail. He started to dull down on his body a little today so I'm guessing that he will go into full shed any time soon.
Is it normal for older chameleons to shed over the...
Thanks for your suggestions. I can see possible advantages for using wooden enclosures with additional vents and possibly replacing the glass doors.
One further question to Tryme, if you dont mind, what do you use for lighting with a 4ft high mesh enclosure? At the moment I use a 60watt house...
Thats good, I'm going to keep an eye out for a mesh enclosure.
I'm assuming you don't have any issues keeping the temps and humidity up?
Thanks for your response.
Thanks, I thought this was the case from what I have read over the past couple of weeks.
What lighting and UVB setup do you use with your Mesh Cage?
Do you mist or use a dripper system?
Do you feel it's best to have some real plants in there too?
It would be great to see some pictures if...
