The minimum bid is a bargain for an adult parsonii. ;)

Real quick, as I just came in from the studio and need to catch some sleep-
The mention of a fall on a cold night got my attention. The cloaca swab (not to be confused with probing to sex an animal) with blood might be indicating internal injuries from the fall... especially if the cham lost...
They get dark just like that when they feel too cold. The spots are probably from the stress of vomitting... or being stared at. I am sorry I was so slow to reply to your message, have been offline on vacation.
Took pix quickly, while getting ready for party tonight... Here are pix of one of my "smaller" CHs, formerly known as Big/Major Red by its color ID. I guess that adjective doesn't apply anymore. I tried to get pix of the others, but everyone is shedding and in that mood.
Tried to take my...
Or lack of stimuli has something to do with it. If competition was the issue, groups should be the lowest weights, with only one HUGE baby. In a group, you can watch one start to feed, and the others see the action and/or feel the first one's vibrations at the prey, and then rush over for their...
I can't help but wonder if raising them singly vs. groups is a factor. I am keeping my 08 Mike CHs in one big enclosure together... the other person reporting similar growth with the same from Mike is Chuck.
Chuck, are yours in pairs or a group, or housed singly?
It appears that all the...
For a perspective on why Madagascar would even consider such a fundraising opportunity, see Chapter 9 of Lords and Lemurs by Allison Jolly. It is a pity that debt is/was considered desirable in modern culture. I saw a related bumper sticker yesterday: "Debt is Normal, Be Weird".
As for...
In early from the studio, determined to NOT have another 20-hr work day...
I weighed the CHs today: 64g, 58g, and the rest 52g
I've let them get to 68F at night or a hair lower ambient, since they have a ceramic heat emitter in a 12" over one section of the long 260 gallon. They love to...
It depends on the species... veins always "yes"... but sometimes pink means "no"...
Unrelated perhaps, but I think I mentioned a couple of this clutch's eggs being externally pinkish... those went almost overnight. My brain is tired, I'm too lazy right now to look it up.
My 05's...
There was a breeder of K. uthmoelleri from the UK who posted his incubation details on the Afriherps forum. I think you have to register to read it...?
Good luck! I absolutely love those little guys!
Hi Kev,
The lifting up part is actually his body doing itself a favor after the burns he sustained.
The dried part is necrotic tissue, and it is peeling up to autotomize (fall off) like a shed scab. His immune system held off infection thus far and his body basically dumping the "trash"...
I've tried, but they are equipped with such a quantity of dense yolk, all you can see is a big yolk blob. :)
This morning, the cabinet temp dipped into the 60'sF, so I moved Nemo to the "winter" incubation cabinet where my 05's hatched.
So.... Jungle Vines are PVC rubber? Or latex rubber?
Some of the fake vines will impart the rubber's color to the pale skin of the feet. If these are the fake vines that have the sandpaper texture, that can cause abrasions. I do not recommend sandy textured vines.
Has it been roosting more...
Things that seem to make them really smack their lips on crix are apples, strawberries, mango (even mango baby food)... citrus not so much.
Other tasty stuff: papaya, prickly pear
Plain potato must make crix really unappetizing, maybe it's the acid? I wish crix farms would use something...
I'd put a ceramic heat emitter near her preferred perch to punch it up to at least 70F all night, at that one perch.
I'm concerned that a drop into the 60's might give her hormone signals she doesn't need at this late stage...
Suzanne, what do you think?
