Nothing at all has changed as far as care goes. No changes in lights, temperatures, or decorations. I’m definitely going to get him checked for parasites. I get his crickets from chain pet stores. What would happen if he did have a parasite? Is that treatable in a chameleon?
My 7 month old chameleon has stopped eating 🙁 I’ve never really had a problem with him as far as food goes, I got him when we was around 4 or 5 months old, and fed him gutloaded super worms and small crickets. He would eat a lot, and twice a day. Now I’ve stopped doing twice a day, and am...
Ew. I really don’t love bugs so I think I’ll probably just put them in the freezer for a bit until they pass. I only have one chameleon and I just by crickets for him every other week and clean out the container so the smell isn’t too bad. I wouldn’t mind them if they didn’t turn into beetles...
I went to get my chameleon his crickets for today and found these weird tiny brown worm looking things crawling around the cricket keeper. They are so small, but there was a lot of them. I didn’t see any yesterday when I got crickets so they must have multiplied fast or something. I am so...
He is a veiled chameleon. I don’t have his weight because he’s honestly too unfriendly to weigh, but he’s certainly not small. He’s about 7 months old now.
What is a good age to transition a chameleon from eating twice a day, to once a day and then eventually every other day? Mine is eating 9-10 (or more) bugs twice a day, and he’s still pretty young, but eventually I’m going to have to slow down the feedings as I’ve read online.
I’m getting live plants in the summer. I’ve stated on other forms that I’ve gotten the safest silk plants that the channel Neptune the Chameleon recommended if that’s the route I have to go. They aren’t the plastic kind
The first picture is from today, the second is from a week ago. Today it seems like he’s done shedding. He ate breakfast this morning, I gave him a few extra bugs and he ate them all. Honestly it seems like he just was being picky because he was shedding 🤷♀️
That’s what I’m trying to train Rocky to do! He loves food, and will eat anything that looks remotely edible. I’m trying to get him to follow a cricket onto a branch, so I can let him out of his cage and he’ll eventually get a little more used to humans so when the time comes, it might be a bit...
My chameleon started to shed yesterday. He got the shed off his back, and is now shedding on his legs. He seems fine, he just seems a bit agitated today. He has been taking crickets from my tongs really well lately, and he goes after pretty much anything that looks like food to him. Tonight he...
Right, but obviously right now I think the only reason he’s unfriendly is because I’ve only had him for a week. I am just someone who tries to think ahead and I worry about stressing him out
Oh, I just thought we had to state that list of care and background info every time we made a new post on here. My bad! Like I said I really do appreciate the help everyone, I was just primarily asking that one question
That’s not to say that I don’t appreciate the advice, and also I’m not saying that I don’t want to spend money on him because that’s the opposite. I just spent $500 on the cage and the things in the cage, and $150 on the chameleon to make sure I got him from a reputable reptile store. I can’t...
