    Old burn on back

Hi everyone, back when she was younger, Maggie burned her back (I’m still not 100% sure how as I’m anal about her basking branch) it’s never been an issues before, no pus or anything, but on her last shed this week, her spine didn’t shed properly, so we gently nudged the flap with a damp...

    Feeding bowls

Hi everyone, My chameleon Maggie is responding really well to me feeding her from a bowl (which is attached to the side of the viv with suction cups) The only issue is that the only ones I could get hold of are see through... and this means that she sometimes tries to catch the bugs from...

She likes being right at the top of the viv, on top of the plants in the right hand corner... so thinking I should keep to 6%

Hey guys, I’m getting conflicting advice, and can find stuff on the internet to support both POV I am in the UK, I have a glass viv with a mesh top. The UV light sits on top of the mesh. My question is.... 6% or 12% at this point I have both bulbs I just want to know which one. Btw, 4...

    Is my chameleon too skinny?

Thank you this is so helpful. I’ll order the bulb tonight and start adjusting the cage. My plan is definitely to lose the fake plants they were just a short term solution while I figured out (and sourced) some trailing/ climbing plants. The bark is orchid bark... the plan was/is to go...

    Is my chameleon too skinny?

Thanks for your reply. The base of of the enclosure is 21/22 C, ambient round the top is 25/26C and then 30-33under the heat lamp. Humidity obviously spikes but sits around 50-55%. If that’s not the levels that it should be I am more than happy to be corrected! I will definitely take your advice...

    Is my chameleon too skinny?

Thanks so much for taking the time to speak with me on this... I’m just pulling my hair out as she is soooo tricky to get to eat. I have a cricket thing and a bowl, but I have left food in both for about 5 days and none has gone... she only seems to take when they are free in the cage. Ive...

    Is my chameleon too skinny?

I can’t see a reference to a feeder run on the link you sent... unless you mean the cricket feeder (which I have, but she doesn’t use) Do you recommend any other feeders that you can get in the appropriate size for her?

    Is my chameleon too skinny?

I do try to remove them, but realistically it’s just not possible to get them all. I leave out some carrot/ sweet potato so that they hopefully feed on it rather than her... I check her over for any signs of irritation daily and can’t see any. I reckon it’s probably 6-8. I’ve only ever seen her...

    Is my chameleon too skinny?

Hi, thanks for your reply... I feed her about 10-12 bugs a day over 2 feeds. The only way I can get her to eat is if they are released in the cage and she goes hunting. If she hasn’t eaten her bugs, I hold back on a feed. If there’s a build up of bugs I catch them and take them out the cage. The...

    Is my chameleon too skinny?

Hey everyone, I’ve had Maggie since 23rd December. She has been very tricky to get to eat... cup feeding and hand feeding is not acceptable to her. I am a first time chameleon owner, and unfortunately do not know anyone with one. She is *about* 3 months old, and was no skinnier than this at the...

    Plants

Hi everyone... I really like the idea of a Passion flower for my veiled chameleons enclosure. I am in the UK and cannot find an organic one anywhere - or one on any reptile supply website. If I bought one from the garden centre, would that be ok to use? Or would I need to do anything to prepare...

    What age is my chameleon?

Ok thanks, that’s a good point. I have 5 real plants in there right now... all chameleon safe. I was reluctant to get artificial but needed them on the short term for more cover... will be replacing as soon as I can.
