Hey all, working with my year old boy panther skittles from paradise. Talked with Bruce and indicated he had seemed quite bored in his 18"×36" cage recently. I have a much larger cage I made for my previous cham that's 2'×4' which Bruce said I could go ahead and put him in woth some new changes...
So Skittles was until yesterday perfectly healthy. While I was downstairs working he managed to climb through the night fogger hole that I stupidly covered with only the uvb lamp hood and set himself right under the uvb. Came up to see his side covered in burns.
Took him to the ER vet and they...
Hi all,
It's been a few months since Char passed, and I've gotten to a point where I can accept that where the Kammers indicated my cage and husbandry were fine they weren't wrong.
I love these guys and am thinking of trying again but this time with a vieled as Michigan has harsh dry winters...

I mean, that's what I did for Char, he's from Kammerflage, I did months of research before buying him, hand built an enclosure, put in mistking, gutloaded only banded crickets, with a very rare treat, I made one mistake with tongs or something and that kills him? The other guy who commented, his...
But... so many people here have so many chams and I can't even keep 1 alive. I love these little guys so much but no matter how hard I try they just suffer.
Medication for dissolving the uric crystals. I took him in for his first injection this morning, also to be checked because I offered water via syringe yesterday and was worried he was aspirating. Got home and opened the box and he was dead.
Even though everyone always tells me my husbandry is...
I regretfully announce that Char Aznable passed away this morning in the line of duty of being my best little buddy. May he find the peace I could not provide him.
Actually scrolling back thru old pics it looks like it probably is a fat pocket or something else, seems like his wrists were always chunky but I am just noticing the left b/c the weight loss.
So an update, not much has changed, still not eating on his own, still very thin and lethargic.
But, noticed this lumpiness on the left front wrist during feeding. It appears new, and no breaks showed up on the x-rays. A remaining fat pocket?, new sign of injury?, thoughts?
Still rough, had him at the animal hospital overnight the other day, and have him on forced food and painkiller rn. They think its a tongue injury from latching onto feeding tings trying catch a cricket.
Colors are still flared, and still closing his eyes during the day a fair bit but drinking...
So the vet is readying him for discharge, they are getting the blood drawn before he leaves but no certainty they will get a good enough sample. They said it will take about a week for results.
At this point they sound pretty sure its a tongue injury and have stated that if there is not...
