Veiled with Bulging eyes - full of fluid

I read that this may be a draining duct blockage and their is a non-surgical way for a vet to fix this? Can anyone elaborate on this? I don't have many vets in my area very qualified for exotic reptiles so I will need to point them in the right direction. My chameleon is 3 years old and has had...

Hatching Silkworms... WHAT was I thinking???

The food looks a little too wet. It will get moldy and could kill off your colony. It should be similar texture to cheese if you cook it right. Use very small, thin strips to feed them. I went through alot of trial and error with silks...

    Ordering new cages!

I have one of these cages. They are a bit dingy and the screen is just simple bug screen which punctures and tears easily. I'm looking to upgrade by finding an old curio cabinet to replace with a more heavy-duty screen material. Anyone know where i can find decent screen that is heavier than the...

    Hygrometer

I have a large tupperware container at the bottom of mine (also I have a plant in it). The plant allows for crickets to climb out if they fall in (otherwise you'll find drowned insects in there if you let them free range the cage like i do). My humidifier drips from the top of the cage screen...

    Veiled chameleon loves to cuddle

I also have a chameleon who constantly wants to come out when he sees people around, unless its later in the day or he's not feeling good. Mine will actually close his eyes and sometimes fall asleep when i rub his casque. If its getting close to dark he will also pick a spot on my arm and go to...

    Getting my new chameleon.

Mine hates the sprayer. He literally will go after the sprayer hissing and trying to bite. He's gotten so aggressive with it that I wait until he climbs outside the cage so i can quickly go in there and spray before he's able to climb back in and attack it. I plan to record a video of his hatred...

    Getting my new chameleon.

I don't have any complaints on FL Chams. I didn't have any problems so I can't really judge their customer service. I was texting the owner with questions before i ordered and he answered them quickly.

    Getting my new chameleon.

He just turned 2 years old. I bought mine 3-4 months just like yours. Here is a pic of Toruk less than a week after i received him in the mail. Within 2 months, he was 10x the size.. So this is what you can expect if you feed him alot :-O

    Getting my new chameleon.

Check the temp of the basking branches so they are not much higher than 80 degrees. He likely will grow quick and his back will get closer and closer to the light... before you know it, its 100 degrees on his back and his little spikes start burning... so make sure you can adjust your branches...

    Getting my new chameleon.

I got Toruk from FL Chams also (Driskel bloodline). He is awesome, very aggressive / territorial but is a sociable chameleon and likes to be around people (rare i know).

    ***The Official Enclosure Picture Thread***

I just finished some upgrades to Toruk's cage. I will be building a cage from scratch this year, but for now this should keep him happy. Not sure why but they post sideways when i attach them, but they are correct on my computer - sorry!

    Got some Silkworms!!!

Who has a good, functional silkworm growing system that i can copy? I have used screens, removable bottom storage bins, etc.. yet still once they blow up in size their pile of feces stink up the room and i have to keep them in the garage. I was hoping it wall fall through the screen material...

Kidney infection, possibly more. Looking for advice from someone who has experienced this with their cham.

Also i'm planning to build a custom cage with lots more live plants. However since he got sick i put that on hold. There is also an umbrella tree that i remove occasionally and put outside for some good sunlight--so it looks a little more bare than normal.

His casque has always been like that. The vet said he looked great and well hydrated (while touching his casque) so i assumed it was a good thing. His eyes though.. this happened back in December. he went from a super energetic, aggressively territorial chameleon, and suddenly the next morning...

Kidney infection, possibly more. Looking for advice from someone who has experienced this with their cham.

I give him D3 about once a month. He gets 6-10 hours of bright direct sunlight on average each week since we live in Sunny south florida and I have him outside when i'm home. I read that with that amount of sunlight, the D3 isn't really necessary. I will bring this up to my vet (Dr K from the...
