Makes me feel better to know someone else has had this happened to. I've fed him hornworms just to vary his diet, but it isn't worth this struggle. Plus they are little a**holes that bite. Think I'm gonna be done with them now. Thank you for letting me know!
Luckily where I live is a 24/7 exotic animal hospital open nights, weekends, and holidays, so if he takes a turn, I definitely have resources. But like anyone, would hate to waste the money with how he is right now
I know it all seems so strange because everything else is completely normal except this one thing. That was pretty much my thinking as well. Thank you for your input, I really appreciate it!
Sorry about that thought I put it in there. No he has not, but I have not tried yet. I did just show him so food, and he looked interested. Humidity is quite low during the day and at night I run a fogger so somewhere between 50-80% depending on where he is in the cage.
I know it's not that because I actually squished his head all the way in fear that would happen! He's not showing any signs of being in pain and I've felt along his neck and he hasn't reacted to it. I fed him it about 2 days ago, tomorrow would be day 3
Honestly, I hadn't before either, but I have seen some people saying that. It only started after he ate it and everything else has been normal so it would make sense, but I'm not sure
Hello!
I fed my cham a few days ago a large hornworm probably edging on the line of too big (I'm so stupid). Since then, he has been gaping a lot no matter where he is in his cage. There are no popping sounds, no excess saliva, head up, or anything else that makes me think he has an RI. I have...
I am already afraid I know the answer to this, but I'd figure I'd still ask.
I have a male Jackson somewhere between 3-4 years (though not sure as he is a rescue). I am currently in Texas, but will be permanently relocating to Switzerland. I know I'd have to get permits from Switzerland, but do...
Hi everyone!
I am a new member to the forums as well as a new chameleon parent (within the last few months). I know there are many well educated chameleon owners on here. On behalf of all of the new owners, I just wanted to say thank you to the community. It's quite scary getting a new pet that...
Thank you for your informed response! I'm definitely not deterred by your recommendations. It's important as a chameleon owner to get as much information as possible and learn from those more experienced. As I said, this is my first Chameleon and I happened to get him because someone else was...
He is my baby and I don't want a vet to tell me nothing is wrong when something clearly is and then spend all of that money to be turned away. Just so you all know, I live on Oahu in Honolulu actually just down the street from the wild population of Jackson's so he lives in an extremely suitable...
The only problem is I brought to my vet's attention when he got his first check up after I got him and he said it was just a skin discoloration and nothing to worry about. I just don't want to be told the same when I think there is something wrong. I also was wondering if it is a skin infection...
Hi there!
I am an owner of a year and a half year old male Jackson Chameleon. I know that he has a skin infection on his foot (small raised black dot and little blackness around the nail which has been there since I acquired him a few months ago). I don't want to spend money on a vet visit and...
