    Veiled outside 24/7 ?

I'm still pondering over this. I would definitely not put his enclosure in the backyard due to cats, owls, coyotes etc. roaming the neighborhood. It would go on an upstairs patio. I think I would only consider moving him outside during the spring and fall. Our summers are brutal, and all the...

    Veiled outside 24/7 ?

The weather is quite nice in Arizona right now with day temperatures being in the 90s and in the 60s at night. I would love for our 2 year-old Veiled to benefit from it, but I'm not quite sure how. Can he be left outside around the clock, or should I move his enclosure back indoors at night...

    AZ reptile show Feb 14-15

I've purchased roaches there but haven't seen silkies or horn worms. I usually order pretty much everything online, but I hate those shipping charges. They are what makes this hobby so expensive.

That would be wonderful, because I can't get them here. It would be awesome to have someone in Arizona who raises all these feeders.

Beardie Vs Water Dragon for pet?

Earlier I forgot to let you know if you go to www.beautifuldragons.com and click on Nutrition Chart it gives you a long list of what to feed to a beardie. It shows staple foods as well as occasional treats and what absolutely not to feed.

Beardie Vs Water Dragon for pet?

I would go with the bearded dragon. My suggestion would be to purchase one that is a little older, maybe around three to four months, and has already been introduced to vegetables. My children got their first beardie in November and these suggestions have really helped us. You will need a big...

Wanting to add on to my cham cage...

As soon as I sent my reply I read about the soft mesh. I still think it's so much easier to order a new all screen enclosure.

Wanting to add on to my cham cage...

I understand where you're coming from, because I'm always thinking about building, improving etc. However, have you priced the material for your project yet? It might actually cost less to simply buy a bigger enclosure. The other thing to consider is that the guinea pig type wire won't prevent...

    Curious

My plants are on raised wire shelves with plastic containers underneath. That way I don't have to worry about root rot. The plastic containers slide out nicely which makes them easy to drain. To prevent my cham from getting trapped underneath the shelf I raised the plastic container by using...

    ReptiSun or Mega-Ray?

Hi Dave, thank you for the information. I will ponder over this for a few more days. However I would be getting the SB for heat reasons, because the 60 gallon tank this particular beardie is in is not big enough to create a second basking area. Igor is growing like a weed and makes the 60...

    ReptiSun or Mega-Ray?

I know a lot of you have other reptiles in addition to your chams and I'm wondering if you can help. Our beardies are currently living in terrariums with a Reptisun 10.0 running across the entire length of the tanks. In the basking area we're using a halogen flood light. I recently found a link...

    pics of your chams home

This is Tristan's home. I have since removed the red flowers and added another horizontal branch accross the lower part of the enclosure. All the plants are real and repotted in terracotta pots to help with humidity. The plants I'm using are dracaena, ficus, ficus elastica, pothos and shefflera.

    Beardie Incoming!

She is adorable. Good luck with her. Is she out of their boy Studly? He is just wonderful. I got to see him at the Pomona show and like him a lot. I love bearded dragons. We have two, Igor and Ivy.

    Question for Misting System Owners

Hi, if possible try to find out for how long the replacement filters will be available, or buy up the entire stock of filters. We're having to replace our R/O system, because our filters are no longer in stock. I use the R/O water for the entire family, children, furry, feathery and scaly...

    Where in the world...

Well, I was born and raised in Hamburg/Germany. Hamburg is in the northern part of Germany, quite close to the Baltic Sea and Denmark. It is the second largest city of Germany. Curiosity drew me to the USA, and so I packed my suitcases, told my parents I would be back in about 9 months and left...
